grinder set up
BOLT THE MOTOR DOWN FIRST .
this picture shows the motor bolted or screwed down to the work bench top . USE a long aluminum straight edge . placed IT on the motor drive wheel . draw a line on the bench top along this edge to the front of the bench top .
notice the green line I have on the bench top it measures 2- 3/4" draw a paralleled line at 2-3/4" from the aluminum straight edge line .
now you have the line to place the grinder frame on . now bolt or screw down the frame
frame is set on the 2 3/4" line
pictures of grinder build.
I use the same perfectly square 8" contact wheel on every frame to set the tracking wheel
the aluminum straight edge gives me the proper spacing for the tracking wheel . next I use the straight edge on the tracking wheel to be sure the wheel is parallel with the frame . vise grips hold it in place while I take it to the drill press . a few bolts and it's ready to go .
